Since 2007, the Parkston Area Foundation has combined efforts with the Opie R. Benson and Helen A. Benson Community Improvement Foundation as well as the Avera St. Benedict Foundation in awarding grants every year.  In 2007, the three foundations pooled monies and granted a total of $10,000 in funds.  Since 2008, the foundations have continued to work together giving out around $25,000 each year, but have since each designated specific amounts to recipients.
